Walk-in Fundos for wooden floors

Step 1

Insert the '0' ring seal in the groove provided in the plastic frame prefabricated into the Fundo base.

Insert the main sealing collar from beneath the Fundo base unit, making sure that the Solid rubber section of the seal faces the metal plate on the Fundo base.

At the same time insert ther screw threaded clamping collar from the upper side. With the aid of the cap tool tighten the two parts together.

Step 2

After prepering the base unit the first stage is to cut out a section of floor in order to install the drain unit.

Then, 80mm below the top of the joist, firmly fix noggins and a support board between the joists on which to bed the Fundo drain body firmly.

Step 4

Position the drain body to correspond with its relevant position in the Fundo shower base unit. Connect the drain outlet to a 2" British Standard Pipe.

Step 5

Now construct a boxing around the Fundo drain to support the edges of the cut area of the flooring and to surround the drain unit. Prime and seal the wooden surfaces.

Step 6

Infill below and around the drain body with a semi-dry sand/cement mix. Compact it around and under the drain to provide support.

Step 7

Fully coat the underside of the Fundo base unit with cement based adhesive to 4-5mm thickness.

Step 8

Accurately position the Fundo base over the drain outlet and carefully push the main sealing collar into the drain body. Level out Fundo as required.

Step 9

Build up the rest of the floor area with 40mm wedi Tilebacker Board if required.

Step 10

Seal all edges of Fundo with wedi waterproof sealing tape bedded into cement based tile adhesive.
