Fitting Fundos

Round Trollo

Step 1

This shower kit can be installed in standard bathroom areas, as well as in free-standing concepts (see Fundo VBK for details). The overall diameter is around one metre, so it is possible to have added comfort and style, setting a mood. You can view the dimensions by clicking here.

After installing the exclusive Fundo drain unit, which must be used with the system (see our Fitting Overview) the recess (bright blue on the picture) is coated with PU or a hybrid sealing compound so the wall sections can be bonded in.

Step 2

The circular wall sections are grooved to accept a 6mm wedi Tilebacker Board fillet which is bonded into the sections using wedi Adhesive and Sealant.

The joints are then covered with wedi joint reinforcement tape bedded in a cement-based flexible adhesive. When the adhesive is set, tiling can begin, using a maximum 5cm format tile.

Step 3

Where the round shower abuts a wall, the resulting corner could be too acute for accurate tiling.

The solution is to take a cut wedge of wedi Tilebacker and bond it in place between the shower and the wall using wedi Adhesive and Sealant.

Step 4

The untiled Fundo round shower wall sections have now been bonded to the base.

At the entrace, tape has been used to smooth the transition from the level surface of the room to the ready-made fall.
